BLOGGER ETIQUETTE: SHARING THE LOVE
I’ve been using my brain again and now I have questions!
I was just reading this post on Parajunkee’s blog about bad arguments against negative reviews and it made me smile so I shared it on StumbleUpon and Twitter. This got me thinking about sharing posts and I realised I don’t do it often enough. I promote my posts on Twitter when I first publish them and then I might share to Google+ a couple of times but other than that I don’t share my own posts much let alone other bloggers. I think this is something I need to change. This week I have been Pinning images from blogs that I like, Tweeting links and trying my best to encourage my followers on social media to check out other stuff that I have found interesting.
I think it is easy to forget that we are part of a community and we should all be helping each other out. There is so much negativity and jealousy amongst bloggers and it shouldn’t be like that. If I see a great post by another blogger then I want to share that with other people, not hate on them for thinking of it before me. I really like the Weekly Recap over at Oh! The Books where they provide an awesome list of all the goings on in the book blogging community so you can catch up on anything you might have missed during the week. I have found some great new blogs to follow via that post and I definitely think it’s brilliant that they are promoting content other than their own. In fact, it has made me a more regular visitor to their blog too.
So what do you think? Do you share posts that you like from other bloggers? If you don’t then maybe you should. I propose that we all make more effort to appreciate and support our fellow bloggers from now on.
